Meet us at Presbyterian Cemetery

Meet us at 6:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Cemetery on Old Harrisburg Road on September 18, 2023 for our first meeting of the fall season!

We will be doing some cleaning of headstones in our cemetery. Note that we are starting earlier than normal, so we can get some work finished before dark.

A brief business meeting will be held at the end of the cleaning session. Come when you can – “many hands make light work”.

Please bring a spray bottle and a gallon of tap water, if possible, and a soft bristled brush. Extra water will be available.

Presbyterian Cemetery

The Presbyterian Cemetery is located just south of York Springs on Old Harrisburg Road.

Civil War Brevet Brigadier General William Warren Stewart, who held the highest rank attained by any Adams Countian during the war, is buried at The Presbyterian Cemetery. Stewart, along with thirty other men from the York Springs area, mustered into service in front of the Presbyterian Church, which has since burned. These men joined with other Adams County residents in Gettysburg to form Company K of the 1st Pennsylvania Reserves.

The Presbyterian Cemetery interments can be searched at find-a-grave.
