Returning to the Roots of the Civil Rights Movement

President Cathay Snyder will be our speaker. It’s been seventy years since the Supreme Court decision, Brown vs Topeka Board of Education, sixty years since Freedom Summer, and almost sixty years since “Bloody Sunday” at the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma–all monumental events in the Civil Rights movement.

Come join us and “ride the bus” with Cathay as she shares her experiences from a Civil Rights Bus Tour she participated in this past July. This one-week tour included stops in Charlottesville VA (University of VA), Atlanta and Albany, GA, Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham, AL, and Nashville and Clinton, TN–a week full of museums, monuments, and meeting “foot soldiers” of the movement.
